Community Employment Services (CES)
The Community Employment Services Department is committed to assisting adults with various disabilities including developmental disabilities, mental illness, learning disabilities, vision and hearing impairments, physical disabilities and medical disorders to obtain and maintain competitive employment in the community. Funding for services is provided by authorization through the Department of Human Services – Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS).
Upon entering the program, the individual will be assigned an Employment Specialist who will assist with job development, transportation training, job coaching, job retention, and follow-up services. The average length of service is dependent upon the individual’s needs and goals. Each person will receive support from the Employment Team which consists of his/herself, DRS Counselor, Employment Specialist, Employer, and any other person the individual wishes to be a part of the team. The Employment Team will meet every
eight weeks to review goals and outcomes. The Employment Specialist will also work
with employers to facilitate job modifications and the development of natural supports at the job site as needed.
