Southwest Community Services, Inc. is driven by the individuals that we serve.
We empower them to use their ideas and abilities to reach their goals and potentials.
SCS has been serving the community since 1971. We are governed
by a volunteer Board of Directors who are representatives of business, education, human
services fields and family members. We receive funding from the Illinois
Department
of Human Services, United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, civic groups,
foundations and private donations.
SCS provides adult and children services and programs that assist persons with
developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical disabilities, hearing and vision
impairments and learning disabilities to enable them to achieve their highest
degree of self-sufficiency through developmental training, social and recreational
opportunities, psychosocial rehabilitation, community support, job development
and community employment opportunities.
