SCS Social Club - Recreation, Social and Leisure Activities for Persons Enrolled
in the Opportunities Unlimited (Developmental Training II Program)
SCS has recently expanded services to persons with developmental disabilities by
focusing
on improving their quality of life with after hours services. The "Social Club"
provides small group recreation, social and leisure activities. Staff supervision
and transportation to each activity is provided.
"Social Club" services are held from 3:30 to 6:00 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
A monthly calendar includes late afternoon leisure and recreational events along
with special seasonal and holiday celebrations. After-hours events include
both in-house activities and community outings based on the participants' input
and interests.
Favorite activities include: Lake Katherine Nature Center, shopping, bowling, miniature
golf, arts and crafts, bingo, games and dining at local restaurants.
Fees are based on the cost of the activity, staffing needs, transportation to and from
the activity, food and beverage. The average fee is $20.00 per activity.
(Transportation home from The "Social Club" will
not be provided by the agency.)
