Developmental Training I Program - TAP (Talents, Abilities & Possibilities)

TAP is an active day program for adults with severe/profound developmental disabilities who are not medically challenged.  Services are centered around the person's interests and needs which encourages each person's talents, abilities and possibilities through an array of programs.

TAP combines daily living skills instruction, community outings, recreation and social activities.  A variety of services are provided with a strong emphasis on life skills and learning opportunities.  Examples include relaxation, exercise, academics, art and craft projects, indoor recreation and games, music expression, independent living skills, current events, computer programs, community outings, health and nutrition.

The staff to client ratio is approximately one staff member to every five participants which allows for more individualized attention.  The goal of the program is to increase a person's self-esteem and assist him/her to build daily living skills.
